What's up with Reach?

.Halo reach dies out before it has even begun, Black ops dominating the world already? I'm sorry Bungie but somebodies fulfilling your dreams.

Recently since the release of black ops, the release of Halo reach
is barely mentioned. What's up? The roots of the game's, the genres well this is what I'll be talking about.

First of all it probably has to do with the story of the games. As Halo Reach is a prequel and there are so many halo games that all put together a story, then to understand most of what is going your should have played at least 2 of the Halo games or there's no point in playing a prequel game. Even though the call of duty Modern warfare games link they both have a story of their own so there's not much of that problem and as Black ops is absolutely it's own story there's no problem at all like this.

Second it may be the genre or what you do in the game.the fact that basically your fighting aliens is a bit old and unoriginal. Despite the differences, the idea is still the same. In Black ops however, although the idea is a classic it is interpenetrated in a different way. So it's a whole new style of game. Another thing is that in Halo game you often find your self in secluded places, all alone with no help whereas in Black ops and likewise many Call of duty games your with a team so the whole atmosphere is different.

Third, which is extremely obvious are the platforms. Black ops is for Playstation 3, Nintendo DS, PC, Xbox 360 whereas Halo Reach is only for Xbox 360.It is extremely obvious, and simple, but affects the whole case massively.

Fourth it may be the roots. The first call of duty game was released in 2003 whereas the first Halo game was released in 2001. So this generation are more fond of Call of duty games as they are newer and perhaps the halo generation died out.

Finally it may have to do with misinterpretation. the Halo Reach advertisements that are viewed publicly are specific on the story rather than game play so people get bored as they watch, the Black ops advertisements, however, include all the action, what you can actually do in the game, use snipers, operate fully functional machine guns E.T.C.

In conclusion i think that both games are extremely good but Halo Reach could match Black ops if it had larger platform range and it's characteristics were clearly advertised. Bungie could also find a way to prove that it's not only the traditional audience who would enjoy it but new audiences as well.
